Nothing much

Nothing much this week, was able to take care of the welding in the bed area. Did a few patches, and filled a few holes. Tore down the rear swing arms finally, gave the parts all a good clean, hit everything with the wire wheel, and gave em all a good licking of paint.

I'll have to try and order the rest of the parts, and the brake line kit this week, so I can get the rear subframe all buttoned up and reinstalled on the pickup!

Round Two: Rancid

So, Saturday night was another night of Rancid. Great ass show, got 20 heads to go through, which was pretty exciting. I even got my two brothers, katsu and shinji to come along. The usual happened, we all got drunk, someone lost something, brent throws up. After the show we went to Palms Thai on Hollywood blvd. for some grub.

All in all, a good time, john got me a signed poster from Lars of Rancid. Good stuff! Couple more weeks, and it's off to see Rise Against at the Wiltern!

I so need to put in some work on the truck..it'll never be done.

Thursday nights

So, the evening looks strong, getting off a touch early, heading straight to MPK Golf Course to meet up with Dave and Daryl to play 9 holes. Have a couple beers, everything is looking good. Soon as we finish, me and Daryl jump into my car and head straight for Anaheim. Our plan is to catch Rancid tonight, although we've got no tickets, we figure someone there is selling some. Drive down, park the car, head straight for the House of Blues. Look around, nope, no one selling any, Daryl gets a bit brave and starts asking around. Nope, no luck there either. WTF Mate! Ok, from all the shows I've been to, there's usually ALWAYS someone whos hawking their tix. Why in the hell doesn't the HOB in Anaheim have any?? Seriously, the night went to total S*#T! ended up being me and Daryl on a MAN DATE, at some Mexican joint, where the burrito ended up costing near $30 with a beer lol. Sad. I guess all is ok though, we'll be seeing Rancid at the Henry Fonda next Saturday.

Such a F'ing BUST!

So horses....

So this past weekend, I went to lunch with Sacchin. We had some good Korean, and I got her to shoot guns, well, more like she wanted to try. AHAHAHA I gotta stay away. After that she took me to her cool ass horse riding training camp thing, where she showed me the horse that she rides like a cow girl on. Pretty f'ing cool I must say.

Other than that, didn't do much else, no work done on the car...perhaps during the week, or maybe even the weekend..

So this past weekend...

Went to the Old School Car show in the LBC..

Really great to see people keeping up the Japanese Classics. It seems not many people pay attention to those lovely cars these days. Saw good ole Antonio there from Cipher Garage, Jerry from Pac Rim and Ken Miyoshi from the Import Showoffs fame. I haven't seen those fools in ages! Bunch of great rides there, from Honda Roadsters, Z's, 510/Bluebirds, Fairlady Roadsters, all the RX series of the Mazdas. John would have cried if he saw the sweet as R100 as I was leaving the venue.

Took some pix, not many, I got lazy. Managed to snap a few shots of my dream car. The guy is fronting with the GTR badges as it's clearly a GTS, but still got to give him some crazy love as he's probably only one in a few that has that car landed here in the states. It's a 70's Nissan Skyline GTS/GTR, AKA "Hakosuka"! Hopefully one day.....

Anyways, here's some pix I snapped, oh and one in there of my the rear swing arm, before I took a BFH to it and cracked the drum into 4. Got some welding done on the pickup, right until I ran out of gas and had to stop for the day. This weekend, hopefully I'll get a little more welding done.

Oh almost forgot, clever engine swap, but not one I think was worthwile, although it probably sounds mean as hell...13B Rotary in a Datsun Z...to each his own. Oh and the other swap which I thought was very interesting, a Honda S2000 Engine (or it looks like) in a Toyota Celica... I guess..again, each his own.

And that purple thing? I'm gonna guess on the year, but 1973 Mazda Rx3...I've owned one before....fun fun cars.

That's all for now..
